1836 - EISEN - Shunga - Hiding in the Dark
Authentic Edo period original, c.1836, Japanese erotic art shunga woodblock print picture by Keisai EISEN (1790-1848). From the shunga series, Konote gashiwa (Two Aspects of Love/ Child’s-hand Oak). Shunga picture measures 22.5 cm x 28.2 cm. Very good colors and impressions, as well as deluxe printing techniques used such as mica (metallic pigments) and gauffrage. Condition is good with some wear & soiling. No backing. Please see and judge from photos.
