Authentic Edo period original, c.1840, Japanese shunga erotic art woodblock print picture book by an artist of the Utagawa School.  Shunga picture book measures 15.7 cm x 22.5 cm closed.  Very good colors and impressions with both trick pictures still fully intact.  Condition is good with some wear & soiling.  No backing for the pages.  Approximately 23 picture pages of shunga artwork with remaining pages being kanji text pages.  One of the kanji text pages has some red scribble on it (not shown here).  Please see and judge from photos. 
 
A rare and large shunga book with some excellent erotic artwork and themes covered.  Again, both of the trick picture scenes are intact, which is quite difficult to come across with books from the early 1800s.
