Excellent colors and impressions! The shunga also has a number of deluxe artwork features such as urushi-e (black lacquer; notably in the hair and the beauty's outer kimono), mica (metallic pigments), gauffrage (a mild type of embossing), and also bokashi shading. Very good condition with minor wear. Original album backing. Please see and judge from photos.
A magnificent & striking shunga print capturing a moment of sensuality enveloped in exquisite textile artistry. The kimonos in this scene are masterfully rendered—her outer robe is a shimmering black with delicate floral motifs, draped elegantly to reveal the intricate textures of her underlayers. His garment, a muted blend of lavender and earthy tones, complements her refined attire, enhancing the luxurious atmosphere of the composition. The rich interplay of fabric patterns and soft, flowing lines embody the sophisticated eroticism characteristic of high-end, Meiji-era shunga.
