1905 - Terukata - Striking 69 Shunga - Oral
Authentic Meiji period, c.1905, Japanese shunga erotic art woodblock print picture by Ikeda Terukata (1883-1921). Picture measures 12.6 cm x 18.4 cm. From his highly sought after series, Yakumo no chigiri (Poetic Intercourse). Due to the popularity of his original Oban-sized shunga picture book of this series, these smaller versions were subsequently produced as a 12 leaflet set to meet the demand. Publisher: Wada Tokutaro.
Excellent colors and impressions! Superb printing with silver mica (metallic pigments), urushi-e (black lacquer; notably in the hair), and also bokashi shading. Very good condition with just a bit of brown spotting at bottom and right edge of the picture. No backing. Please see and judge from photos.
A great shunga woodblock print scene from this series, if not the best! A couple engage in reciprocal oral pleasure (69), while the woman also inserts her thumb into the anus of her partner.
