Authentic Meiji period, c.1910, Japanese shunga erotic art woodblock print picture by Ikeda Terukata (1883-1921).  Picture measures  27.6 cm x 40 cm.  This is Ikeda Terukata's rendition of Hokusai's gorgeous and extremely rare series, Fukujuso (The Adonis Plant). 
 
Excellent colors and impressions!  Superb printing with deluxe printing techniques added such as mica (metallic pigments), and also bokashi shading.  Very good condition with just a couple of small brown spots to note of, otherwise perfect!  No backing.  Please see and judge from photos.
 
Ikeda Terukata’s refined interpretation of Hokusai’s Fukujusō (Adonis Plant) distills the elegance, sensuality, and compositional grace that define the golden age of shunga.  Terukata retains the intimacy and tenderness of Hokusai’s original while softening the palette into warm, luminous tones that highlight the emotional connection between the lovers.  This piece stands out for its exquisite linework, subtle shading, and the calm, almost meditative atmosphere—an exceptional example of Meiji-era homage to Edo-period mastery.
